NRG made illegal

Naphyrone also known as NRG-1, NRG-2, Energy 1 or Rave was made illegal on July 23rd 2010.

This substance has been closely linked to mephedrone, but has been identifed as being stronger therefore more risky.

It has been made a Class B drug with penalities of up to 5 years in prison if caught using or 14 years if caught selling the substance.

There are concerns that the substance causes problems including: damage to nose, paranoia and anxiety, overstimulation of the heart increasing the risk of heart attacks and potentially risk of overdose especially if used with alcohol.
